img_3282card14.jpg

The polka dot paper from Petals & Paisley paper makes the perfect background for a sweet “girl” card. Both the wings of the butterfly and the beetle are stamped on vellum and then attached with sticky strip to give the 3D effect.

Supplies:

Stamps: Garden Whimsy
Inks: Old Olive, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink
Cardstock: Purely Pomegranate, Whisper white, Pretty in Pink, Petals & Paisley designer paper
Also: Vellum, Pink gingham ribbon

Celery quilt

August 23, 2007

img_3301card13.jpg

I made this card using the Certainly Celery pack from the new single colour sets of Designer paper from Stampin’ Up. The frustrating thing about this paper is that in most cards you can’t see the two beautiful sides. This quilt inspired design is my answer to that problem. I cut one square into strips and then proceeded to glue them down but of course it was near impossible to get them perfectly square so I squared them off like a quilter would after they were glued.

Supplies:

Stamps: Garden Silhouettes, Polka dots And Paisley
Inks: Certainly Celery, Versamark
Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Whisper white, Celery Designer paper
Also: Celery grosgrain ribbon, White e.p.

Sweet Celery

I completed this card for the featured stamper challenge at Splitcoast Stampers .
The featured stamper on Sunday was Melissa and the card I CASEd was this one. The Certainly Celery designer paper made it easy to make a coordinated patchwork background.

Supplies:

Stamps: Garden Silhouettes, Short and Sweet
Inks: Versamark
Cardstock: Whisper white, Certainly Celery
Also: Certainly Celery Designer papers, white eyelets, white e.p.

Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Apricot Appeal, Wild Wasabi, White

You can’t see it in this picture but the Not quite Navy cardstock is the new textured cardstock which is just like linen. I tried several times to add to this card but ended up wanting it  simple like this. The delicate design of the Queen Anne’s Lace is pretty enough on its own.

Supplies:

Stamps: Garden Silhouettes, Short and Sweet
Inks: Not Quite Navy
Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, Soft Sky, Confetti Cream

More Paisley

August 10, 2007

img_3251card7.jpgAs I mentioned yesterday I am enjoying using the Polka dots and Paisley set. The paisley stamp works well as a background stamp or as the feature stamp.

Supplies:

Stamps: Polka dots & Paisley, Hugs & Wishes
Inks: Wild Wasabi, Bravo Burgandy stamp pads and markers
Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Bravo Burgandy, White
Also: Burgandy grosgrain ribbon, natural hemp twine

img_3227ca5.jpgThe first month for Stampers’ club was also the night of my Open House for the new catalogue. These are the cards that everyone made. I am really enjoying using the Polka Dots & Paisley set, the paisley and dot stamps are great to make pretty but not floral cards.

Supplies:

Stamps: Polka Dots & Paisley, Hugs and Wishes
Inks: Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi
Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi, White, Mellow Moss
Also: Moss gingham ribbon, Circle punches

The mini thank you card was a fun way to use the watercolour pencils and I was pleased with the colour combination given that Taken with Teal is not a big favourite of mine.

img_3228ca6.jpg Supplies:

Stamps: Artfully Asian
Ink: Basic Black
Cardstock: Taken with Teal, Rose Red, Soft Sky.
Also: Blender Pens, Watercolour pencils (Faber Castell)

img_3154acard.jpgHere is a card my 11 year old daughter made using the retired set “Shapes and Shadows”. I really like her division of the card into three sections. Unfortunately the colours in my photo are not very accurate, I am still working on how to best get pictures of the cards.

Supplies:

Stamps: Shapes and Shadows, Hugs and Wishes
Inks: Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant, Markers
Cardstock: White, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant
Also: White grosgrain ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Cards made by my kids

August 6, 2007

img_2416bcard1.jpgHere is a card made by my 6 year old son. It is a good example of the kind he likes making at present. He picks a theme, often the theme of the birthday party he is going to and makes a collage. He designed this card all by himself and I just provided the card stock.
